Development of Clean Energy

The Center is involved in the development and implementation of Clean Technology, or “CleanTech” policies and practices for the energy industry of the future.

These policies include encouraging the development of renewable energy sources (e.g., wind, solar, geothermal, biomass and hydro), distributed generation resources (e.g., high efficiency combined heat and power or cogeneration), and energy efficiency and conservation. In addition, CleanTech policies promote investment in the energy grid of the future (the “smart grid”), which will facilitate the integration of renewable energy resources and facilitate wider deployment of demand response technologies that will allow retail customers to receive accurate price signals regarding their energy costs and the capability to respond to those price signals.
